There’s just something so special about a whimsical Tahoe wedding, that mix of fresh mountain air, soft golden light, and those wild, nature-inspired details that make it all feel effortlessly magical. This day at Austin Ridge in Truckee was exactly that! From the start, I could tell it was going to be one of those weddings that just felt like the couple. Relaxed, joyful, and surrounded by all the people (and pup!) they love most!
A Day That Felt Like Them
Madison and David’s wedding couldn’t have been a better reflection of their lives together. She’s always out walking with her dog in the hills of Auburn, camera in hand, always capturing her world on film. And David? He spends his days out in nature fighting fires. So of course, celebrating in the mountains with those incredible views overlooking Tahoe just made sense! What I loved most was how calm and easy the whole day felt. No stress, no rushing, just pure happiness. Her bridesmaids were her childhood best friends, which made the morning so full of laughter. And his brother standing by his side as best man made it even more meaningful.
Designing the Florals for This Tahoe Wedding
When Madison told me they were going for that “old Tahoe money” vibe, I was instantly obsessed. She sent over a few inspiration photos, but really, she gave me full creative freedom to make it happen. And when couples trust me like that? That’s when the magic happens. We leaned into whimsical Tahoe wedding florals that felt organic and full of movement, nothing too polished or perfect. I used a mix of dahlias, zinnias, and delicate garden blooms in shades of gold, peach, white, and soft orange, accented with wild greenery to tie it all together! Everything was designed to feel like it could’ve been gathered straight from a mountain meadow. From the ceremony arch to the lush tablescapes, the florals brought warmth and texture to every corner. The pops of color against the rich greens of Austin Ridge created the most beautiful contrast, especially as the afternoon light hit everything just right!
Sunset Views and a Laid-Back Celebration
As the sun began to dip behind the mountains, the light turned pure magic. The couple shared their first dance by the pool overlooking the lake, a total pinch-me moment. The entire reception had this relaxed, joyful energy. Guests sipped cocktails, laughed through heartfelt toasts, and just soaked in the view. The florals glowed under that golden light, and it honestly couldn’t have been a better ending to the day.
